Buccaneers Re-Sign RB LeGarrette Blount

Buccaneers re-signed exclusive rights free agent RB LeGarrette Blount to a one-year, $540,000 contract.

He'll be a restricted free agent next offseason. Blount, 25, fumbled five times on 184 carries last season while seeing his yards-per-carry average tumble from 5.01 as a rookie to 4.24. Blount couldn't have endeared himself to Tampa's new coaches by publicly expressing displeasure with the Bucs' interest in Trent Richardson. Expect Blount's role to decrease significantly in 2012.
